Randolph Air Force Base, Texas

Randolph Oaks Golf Course is an 18-hole, Par 72 course that measures 7,172 yards from the back tees, with a current rating of 74.5 and a slope of 125.  The original course was designed by Joseph Finger and opened in 1959.  This is a long, flat course that is known for its wide open fairways and small elevated greens. The signature hole is the 13th.  In 2004 the course was re-designed by George William & Robert Rose.

This is a typical Texas layout with lots of sand, trees and landscaping.  There are 13 holes with water hazards.  The course is an excellent condition, and a good course if you like to walk.  As we played the course, we came across a herd of turtles on a few of the greens.  The course is a challenging but fair one.  Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy the course.

Randolph AFB is a flight training facility for many types of aircraft and you should be prepared to be serenaded by loud jet take-offs, touch and goes, and fly byes.  We stayed at the Randolph Inn on post and in order to get to the golf course you have to cross an active runway which is definitely something different.

The golf course is for the military and there guest only.
