The Ames Golf Course is an 18-hole, Par-72 course
that measures 6,338 yards from the back tees and is rated at 70.2 with a slope
of 117. The course opened in 1958 but the designer of the course is unknown.
The course
features meandering Kikuyu grass fairways, large sand bunkers and elevated
tees. The course has been modernized and
upgraded since it originally opened. But
what hasn’t changed is the beautiful location and spectacular scenic views the
have always made the course a popular and attractive destination. The course has numerous bird species like the
Red Tail Hawk, Burrowing Owls and a vast array of other birds and animals that
make this area a veritable wildlife preserve.
That’s why the course is known as “One of the best kept secrets of the
Bay Area for golf”.
The golf
course is open to the public.
