The Mesquite Grove Golf Course is an 18-hole
Par 72 course that measures 7,005 yards from the back tees. The course opened in 1950 but the designer is
unknown. The course has a rating of 73.0
and a slope of 118.
This course is
a great example of a west Texas golf course.
The terrain is fairly flat, with a few trees, a vast array of desert
vegetation and some strong Texas winds.
The course also has elevated Bent grass greens and Bermuda
fairways. The #6 hole is the golf course
signature hole with a green fronted by water.
The toughest hole is the #9 hole, with its usual play into the
prevailing winds and is over 400 yards long.
The course
is known for being one of the best maintained courses in west Texas, with a
layout that presents a challenge to every player.
The course
is open to the public.
