The Windy Harbor Golf Course is an 18-hole,
Par 72 fairly flat course that measures 6,395 yards from the back tees, with a
rating of 70.5 and a slope rating of 129.
The course original designer is unknown but it was opened in 1960. The course was re-designed by William C. Byrd
but no date was given.
The course
is nestled along the intercostal waterway, St. John’s River and the Naval
Station property. We loved the
ever-present 20 Knot winds will present a challenge to all skill levels. This recently renovated golf course will be a
challenge due to the new contoured fairways, bigger greens, improved drainage
and five new strategically located ponds and the addition of numerous fairway
and green side sand bunkers. This is a
very enjoyable course for all skill levels and a must play golf course.
This golf
course is open to the public.
