The Bay Breeze Golf Course first opened in
1962 and was designed and built by Nathan Crace. The course closed because of the tropical
storm” Katrina” but re-open in 2008. This
Par 71, 18-hole course measures 6,517 yards from the back tees and has a rating
of 70.7 and with a slope of 112.
The golf
course is a fairly wide open layout, located right off of the Back Bay where
the winds can be a factor all day long.
There are water hazards that come into play on nine of the 18
holes. The signature hole is #10, a 180
yard par 3 with a breathtaking view of the Back Bay that borders the
course. The greens are large and well
bunked. Many holes have an excellent
view of the runway and if you love military aircraft you can’t beat the views.
The golf
course is open to the public.
