Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada

The Sunrise Vista Golf Course is now an 18-hole course, Par 72, that measures 7,051 yards from the back tees.  Originally, the base had two 18 hole courses but that was reduced to three nine holes, the Eagle Course, Falcon Course and Raptor Course.  Today, there are only two, the Eagle and Falcon courses.  The golf courses were designed by Jack Daray and Stephen Halsey.

The course layout is a fairly flat desert landscape with wide open fairways.  The rough can be a little long at times and very tough.  Sand bunkers are a bit hard and sometimes muddy.  The greens are fairly flat and they can be very fast.  There are some trees and plenty of desert area along with some beautiful views of the mountains.  This can be a very challenging or a very enjoyable round of golf.  It all depends on you.

The golf course is open to the public.

  1. just played it last month and it was in really bad shape
All grass was dead and ground hard and dry.
Now I see why the proshop is located away from 1 and 18, because they used to have 36 holes.
