March Air Force Base (CLOSED), California

The General Old Golf Course was an 18-hole, par 71 course that measured 6,801 yards from the back tees, and had a rating of 72.1 and a slope rating of 120.  It first opened in 1958 and was located in March AFB.  After the public was allowed access the air base was closed.  The designed is not known.

The fairways played semi-narrow, but the beginner golfer could still play the course and enjoy it.  This was a desert course, with many trees; local area vegetation, and scenic mountain views, but still a sneaky tough course.  Each green was guarded by numerous sand bunkers left and right.  For a desert course, the greens were always in great condition and fast.

The golf course was open to the public.
